The Richard Nixon Foundation will commemorate the 11th anniversary remembrance of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 that claimed nearly 3,000 American lives. Held in the White House East Room, this promises to be Orange County’s largest commemoration event, and will feature keynote remarks by Major General Melvin Spiese, Commanding General of the 1st Expeditionary Brigade, and noted author and television commentator Bruce Herschensohn.
The Nixon Library has hosted an annual commemoration every year since the attacks. A formal presentation of the colors by U.S. Marines will be followed by patriotic musical and choral performances by both the Villa Park High School Concert Band and the Orange High School Concert Choir and Chamber Singers. An invocation will be given by Orange County pastor Phil Hotsenpiller.
