Pat Nixon Dazzles the East Room

First Lady Pat Nixon graced the Nixon Library’s East Room Tuesday, August 14. With a widely-acclaimed interactive presentation, the 200-plus audience – particularly the young schoolchildren – learned about Mrs. Nixon’s humble beginnings,  and how she worked her way through college to become one of the most beloved figures in modern American history.

Rounding out the Nixon Library’s annual Meet the Presidents Summer Series, Mrs. Nixon was portrayed by longtime Nixon family friend and Nixon Foundation board director Maureen Drown Nunn. Nunn is the daughter of Mrs. Nixon’s best friend, Helene Drown; the two taught at Whittier High School together.
