Presidential Christmas Cards on Display

“Happy Holidays… from the White House,” a holiday display at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library, features a collection of Christmas greeting cards from the White House spanning Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower through George W. Bush.

The first official White House holiday greeting card was sent by President Eisenhower in 1953. Since then, presidential greeting cards have been a staple of holiday tradition in the executive mansion.

Hallmark Cards, Inc. has produced most of the Christmas cards for the presidents. President and Mrs. Clinton had their cards designed by American Greetings.

The holiday cards are on display now through January 2, 2013.
