In honor of President Nixon’s Centennial and the 40th anniversary of the return home of the POWs from Vietnam, the Nixon Foundation has partnered with the United States Department of Defense to honor them at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum.

On May 23 and 24, 2013, the Nixon Foundation will host Vietnam POWs and their families for two days of special events, including a dinner in the East Room at the Nixon Library to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Nixons’ White House welcome home dinner.

Forty years ago to the day, on May 24, 1973, President and Mrs. Nixon welcomed home the POWs with the biggest dinner ever held at the White House, which included performances and appearances by Bob Hope, John Wayne, Sammy Davis Jr., Irving Berlin and others.
