The Richard Nixon Presidential Library has just unveiled its new special exhibit, “Treasures from the Vault,” a trove of precious gifts given to President and First Lady Nixon from world leaders, foreign dignitaries and heads of state.
The selection from a volume of over 30,000 artifacts includes a First Century B.C. carved stone relief of Buddha from Pakistani President Yahya Khan, a painting of St. Peter’s Basilica from Pope Paul VI, a red silk ten-panel screen with embroidered cranes from the South Korean President Park Chung-hee and much more.
The exhibit runs now through January 17, 2011.
