President Richard Nixon’s 106th
Birthday Celebration
The community gathered on Tuesday, January 9, to celebrate what would have been President Nixon’s 106th birthday. The ceremony was held at the 37th president’s memorial site, just steps from the two bedroom house where he was born and spent his childhood in Yorba Linda, California.
After laying a wreath at the president’s memorial, Major General Robert Castellvi spoke of President Nixon’s far reaching impact on his own parents, who had recently received their US citizenship and in 1968 when they proudly cast their ballots for Richard Nixon. Castellvi reflected on President Nixon’s over 5 decades of service to our nation and his lasting legacy as a Peacemaker who facilitated an honorable end the long and costly Vietnam War.
