The 2024 presidential campaign is off and running with the first GOP debate last night. Over 150 gathered in the East Room of the Nixon Library for a watch party followed by a post-debate discussion with Governor Pete Wilson in conversation with Ambassador Gaddi Vasquez.
Four of the eight candidates on the debate stage have delivered remarks at the Nixon Library within the past year. The Nixon Foundation is hosting a 2024 Presidential Policy Perspectives Speakers series extending invitations to every declared candidate for the presidency to visit the Nixon Library and deliver remarks on any topic, in any format.
Governor Wilson’s debate analysis drew from his time in government service noting the current decline in public schools and overall trust of America. He reflected that the common theme unifying all the candidates—that we’ve got to turn around the direction of this country.
