Reza Pahlavi Accepts Nixon Foundation Award

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, His Imperial Highness Reza Pahlavi, Crown Prince of Iran, was presented with the Richard Nixon Foundation’s Architect of Peace Award at a gala at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum.

In his acceptance speech, the Crown Prince said, “President Nixon’s vision for a peaceful and secure Middle East remains as relevant today as it was during his presidency. His boldness in pursuing peace, his willingness to challenge the status quo, and his unshakable belief in freedom continue to inspire me.”

Her Imperial Majesty Farah Pahlavi is jointly receiving the Architect of Peace Award, with which she will be presented in Washington, DC on November 7th.

The Empress and the Crown Prince, living in exile since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, have devoted more than 40 years to championing religious freedom in Iran, advocating for a democratic form of government backed by popular vote, and bringing attention to myriad ongoing human rights abuses in Iran.

The Award also recognizes the long relationship between Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi and President Richard Nixon. Watch the video on Nixon and the Shah: A Legacy of Friendship and Peace below.
