The Architect of Peace Award was jointly presented to His Imperial Highness Reza Pahlavi, Crown Prince of Iran and son of the Shahbanou, at a ceremony held at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in October 2024.

The Empress and the Crown Prince, living in exile since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, were recognized for devoting more than 40 years to championing religious freedom in Iran, advocating for a democratic form of government backed by popular vote, and bringing attention to myriad ongoing human rights abuses in Iran.

The Award also honors the relationship and friendship between Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi and President Richard Nixon.

The Richard Nixon Foundation created the Architect of Peace Award in 1995, shortly after President Nixon’s death, to be bestowed on the rare and consequential individuals who embody President Nixon’s noble goal and advance his ongoing legacy.

Both award ceremonies were held in support of the mission of the Richard Nixon Foundation. Special thanks to Dr. Nikan Khatibi and Dr. Parmis Khatibi for serving as Co-Chairs of both events.
