Within days of closing the Library to the public in March 2020, the White House East Room, known for its once-active programming and frequent events, became a center for much-needed blood donations.
Since then, the Foundation has hosted 36 blood drives, resulting in over 1,600 usable units of blood and potentially 4,800 lives saved.
We intend to continue these popular and meaningful blood drives as long as the shortage continues.
