Author of “Woodrow Wilson: The Light Withdrawn”

Join us for a special evening with former Congressman Chris Cox as he shares a timely reassessment of Woodrow Wilson and his role in the long national struggle for racial equality and women’s voting rights.

Drawing from the critical civil rights and women’s suffrage movements of Wilson’s time, Cox paints a vivid picture of a President unsuited for the transformation of his era. Cox brings to life the powerful stories of the heroes responsible for the eventual success of this movement, resulting in one of the greatest advances in the history of American democracy.

About Chris Cox

With a rich career in law, politics, and academia, Cox brings unmatched insight to this compelling retelling of a defining period in American history. Formerly a congressman and Chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Cox now serves as Senior Scholar in Residence at UC Irvine.

Following the event, Congressman Cox will sign copies of Woodrow Wilson: The Light Withdrawn, available for purchase at the Museum Gift Store.
