Throughout her life, First Lady Pat Nixon championed volunteerism and supported worthwhile organizations across the country.
Every year on her birthday the Richard Nixon Foundation hosts the Pat Nixon Day of Service, where thousands of guests come to the Nixon Library to learn about organizations and charities Mrs. Nixon championed as First Lady.
The Pat Nixon Day of Services continues in 2021 with a virtual wreath-laying ceremony and video messages from leaders of national volunteer organizations who will discuss how they are working to combat COVID-19 and better the community.
Participating organizations include the American Cancer Society, Inc., America Red Cross, City of Yorba Linda, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Town & Gown of USC, Salvation Army, Crittenton Services for Children and Families, 4-H Club of Orange County, Pat Nixon Republican Women’s Federation and Lifestream Blood Bank.
